What to Expect

Our Registered Dietitian provides individual counselling to support healthy eating and manage a variety of health conditions across all stages of life. Whether you’re looking to improve your overall nutrition or navigate a specific concern, the Dietitian will work with you to set realistic, balanced goals tailored to your needs.
 
Nutrition plays a role in every aspect of health. For resources specific to pregnancy, infancy, childhood, or older adulthood, please refer to the appropriate program pages.
 
These services are offered free of charge to all clients of the Greenbelt Family Health Team.

Healthy, Balanced & Joyful Eating

We follow a non-dieting, Health at Every Size® (HAES) approach, offering guidance from a weight-neutral lens that emphasizes sustainable, nourishing habits for all body types.
 
You can work one-on-one with the dietitian (by referral) or access a free online course to learn healthy eating strategies independently.

Making a balanced meal includes
Protein, fibre rich carbohydrate from grains, starches, fruit and vegetables and some heart healthy fats

If you have IBS and it has been suggested that you try a low FODMAP diet it is ideal to work with the Registered Dietitian to gain individualized guidance and support as the low FODMAP diet can feel overwhelming or restrictive for some people.  At the same time, research shows that low FODMAP eating can help improve IBS symptoms for 70-80% of people.
